well i own a layout site on myspace. i use "ilyts.net" for my layouts and they work good. but they only have default layout generators. then to make a preview go to "mylayouthost.com"

once you get use to the way its done you can start go back to that website and make some changes and make it a little more peronal
okay well you need to be really good at HTML codes for starters. i mean if you don't even know what HTML stands for then don't bother starting a site, you also have to have photo-shop CS3, paint shop pro, or any other photo editing program so you can make your backgrounds. you also need to know how to change font colour and other things. you should know there is no special program to make layouts. layouts are just a whole bunch of myspace HTML codes put together to tell your browser how to display your page.well good luck!
in the code look for the words like "background" or "contact table" and then change the background image to another URL, its basic stuff. just look at the code around the image and change and mess with it. you will eventually learn it. I DID
