and in order to understand html u have to remember codes sorry its really no other way

if you want to get off the easy way.. you could copy a background format that you like %26amp; change the unwanted part such as background image: (url) with ur own image %26amp; make it compeletly different.

I really want to start making my own layouts, graphics, and other cool stuff like that. I really want to specialize in DIV layouts, but I also want to make the typical ones as well . I really want to get started, and eventually make a contest and layout website for people to use. I would love to hear anything anyone has to say. There aren't any programs, unless you make one.

The people who generate say they make layouts mostly use the generators online, most of which don't do DIV overlays.

Now, a select few do the HTML coding by hand, it's simple once you know what you're doing. It's all jargon to people who don't know what style tags are for example, but if you read up on it on the internet you'll be generating basic profiles in no time, as well as graphic design/animated GIF's (those are simple just use photo editing software).

DIV layout may take some time to master as they are really trial and error. Eventually you catch on to the habit of where things like to go and you can work with them. There are also many tutorials online for learning this.

if u wanna start making layouts i suggest using a lyt generator for the basic stylesheet, and then modifying it to the way you'd like it. one important thing to never do: never take someone elses layout code, change the font/links/colors/background, and call it your own. hope this helped =]

Well, i make my own layouts, %26amp;%26amp; if you want to do it from scratch, which i advise you not to, you really have to know alot about html. but what i did, is i when to this website: http://mygen.co.uk/ and i used their profile generator. you basically just have to fill it in and done. %26amp;%26amp; if you want to change the background it's very simple to do that anytime. jst find the bacground url part, and switch it. so if you want my opinion, you should jst go to a generator and you can also preview it, so you always knows what it looks like. or you can even use myspace's profile generator. either way, it works.

This happens because Firefox is not fully compatible with the page you're viewing. The layout you're using , uses the code which works in IE based browsers perhaps but causes display problems in Firefox.

If you're not able to view all components of a webpage, in Firefox click on View %26gt; Page style %26gt; No style. What this does is, it just shows a page using the basic HTML layout However as you'll see, the page now looks very different .

So what i'd really suggest you is to get the extension 'IE tab' for firefox.( That is, if your layouts are displayed properly in IE). Once you install that extension , simply put the myspace URL in that extension so that it'll be one of the sites that'll open within firefox but will use the IE's engine. I'll walk you through it.

Once you're on the page, click 'install now (windows)' ...follow steps to install. At the end it'll prompt you to restart firefox.

Now click Tools %26gt;Add-ons %26gt; Extensions %26gt; click on IE tab extension %26gt; click options . Now in the URL, enter http://myspace.com and click 'add'. now click 'ok' to close to box. From now on, always myspace.com will open with IE's engine . If you want a certain page(for example your own page) to look like how it does in IE, then instead of the entire myspace URL, just put in your own page's URL there. What this extension basically does is, it lets you change the rendering engine for a webpage. If you don't want to enter any URL there, then you can also click the mozilla firefox icon in the bottom right of the window to switch to the IE rendering engine for the page you're viewing after installing this extension.

That's it

The solution i described above is a workaround. The problem you are facing will always be an issue with the browsers which don't understand specific codes. So the workaround what i explained, will work for all the pages which open fine in IE but cause display problems in firefox.

The code probably has IE only specific tags which may or may not be recognised and interpreted properly by Firefox (which is standards compliant). Additionally, even the regular W3C standard code may be interpreted differently by different browsers.

You'll have to isolate what is not being displayed properly and adjust the code accordingly. Google will be your friend.

main thing is to nest stuff in tables and the tie the tables down using your style sheets

there's really only two ways to do animation on any kind of web-page be it myspace or what have you. The most common is plugins for flash or other kind of macromedia/java program. These are extensive programs that require a lot of programming effort to pull off. The other, simpler way is to do an animated give which always involves using a program such as the one you mentioned. An animated .gif is just a picture that the browser reads in and displays different sections of, to produce the "page flipping" type of animation you normally think of...each part of the animation is stored inside the file and the browser handles the display and the timing of it all. That's probably the best way to do things in myspace. The only program I have ever used to do this is called "GIF construction set"...it is a pay program, but I believe there's a free trial download/shareware version. I doubt that it's any easier to use than Animation Shop, though I haven't used that program.

Well, you can add some layout sites as friends -- they might make custom layouts if they DO make them %26amp; if you ask them.
contacts on myspace where there are links to myspace layouts and graphics are easy to find .just go to one of the myspace comments and graphics site links like http://hotcomments.com in myspace.com and look for them. just click that ^.most are found on your friends comment pages if you look under some of their comments. there are lots of folks in the myspace community that create great myspace layouts and graphics as well. from the home page or emailing the main guy Tom? that answer should be easy to figure out.

All you need is a really good graphics program. Most likely the person who did that layout was using a professional package like photoshop or paint shop pro. They basically create a large scale picture that is the size of a desktop and then they slice it. They make it into different sized page segments that can later be put together again using HTML and Cascading stylesheets (CSS).

The only cost you have to have is to buy the graphics program. Otherwise if you can find one for free, then you have it made.

The link below is a great tutorial site that shows you how to use a graphics program like photoshop to make web page layouts. It is professionally done and looks great.
